So come on along and join me on my blogs, Write Right! and Oregon Author.

Write Right!, the place for writers, readers, authors, editors, literary agents, teachers and anyone else who loves words, brings us together to talk about writing. And travel around my beautiful state with me at Oregon Author. We’ll visit interesting places and talk Oregon food, flora and fauna, sports and all things Oregon. Around a bend, we just might get to talk to some interesting guest bloggers, too.

My suspense thriller, Thunderhead Rising: Brothers and Sisters, is complete and on submission. Please visit the Writing page for more information.

A Bit of Bio

Born in Chicago, I hold a BA in Humanities from New College of California in San Francisco, where I majored in English and interdisciplinary social sciences. Throughout my working life in healthcare administration, education and research, I wrote and edited numerous reports, articles and a textbook. I’ve also owned a freelance writing and editing business.

A bit about me professionally: I’ve worked as an office manager, administrative assistant, research assistant, health information manager, quality and compliance program manager, assistant to the dean at a university college, and assistant to the senior director and program directors at a number of healthcare clinics and organizations. Currently, I’m retired from the workforce and writing a series of suspense thrillers and two blogs.

But I’m not always bound to a chair. Away from the computer, I read voraciously; love walking, cooking and gardening; and cheer on my favorite teams and athletes (I’m still mourning the retirement of Roger Federer). A member of International Thriller Writers, Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime, I live in Hillsboro, Oregon with my husband Terry, my “alpha beta” and biggest cheerleader.

Fun Things About Me

Portland Trail Blazers logo
  • A premature baby who weighed just over 3 pounds at birth, I could fit into a cardboard cigar box with the lid shut. (What happened?)
  • Since childhood, I’ve been a sports fanatic but have always been terrible at sports. So you’ll find me cheering on the Portland Trail Blazers, San Francisco Giants and 49ers, New England Patriots, our Oregon teams and many others. Additionally, Terry and I love tennis, so we follow the ATP and WTA tours.
  • In 4th grade, I wrote my first short story, Halloween Night, on lined handwriting paper folded in half. I fondly remember the jack-o-lantern I drew on the cover. To my surprise, the story won a prize and my teacher had me read it in front of the class. That hooked me on words for all eternity! I’ve been reading and writing ever since.
  • I love baking, and my “Elegant French Cheesecake” won a blue ribbon at a county fair. I’ve also had a recipe published in the 2018 Taste of Home Holiday and Celebrations Cookbook.
  • To be sure, I’m always looking for new adventures. And this website absolutely qualifies!!

May the Words Be with You.
